- Samara Weaving will be returning for the sequel
- The original 2019 film was a critical and box office success
- No plot details or release date have yet been revealed

Samara Weaving is preparing to walk back down the aisle as she has signed on for a sequel to 2019 horror hit Ready or Not.
Teaming up again
She will again be teaming up with Radio Silence Productions – the collective comprising Tyler Gillett, Chad Villella and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin – for the sequel.
In the first film, a bride’s (Weaving) wedding night turns from a dream into a nightmare when she learns of the bizarre ritual her new family has. They play a puzzle card game but if a Hide and Seek card is drawn – as she does – then it turns into a murderous game of cat and mouse. All this to appease a deal made with the devil by a family member many years ago.
Alongside Weaving was a strong cast, including Adam Brody, Henry Czerny and Andie MacDowell.
Ready or Not was made for just $6 million but grossed more than four times that at the US box office in 2019. It was also a critical hit, with the movie being praised for its mix of suspense and kills with biting social commentary. It also performed well when it made the transition to streaming/TV.
Returns
While it has been confirmed that Guy Busick and R Christopher Murphy will again be writing the script, no hints have been given about what the plot of the sequel might be. A release date has also not been mentioned yet either.
The Hollywood Reporter also noted that several producers from the first film, including Tripp Vinson, Bradley J Fischer and James Vanderbilt, are all on board for the sequel.
Another horror sequel in the works, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, also recently confirmed one of its stars from the original film would be returning. Matthew Lillard will be reprising his role as William Afton for the film that is set to be released in December 2025.
