Nesmith’s Vision for Starfield 2
Former Bethesda developer Bruce Nesmith has fueled up the hopes of fans by hinting towards the possible development of Starfield 2– though it’s a project fans might have to wait a while to see.
Nesmith has contributed to Bethesda for two decades and worked on renowned game series like- The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, making him an exceptional video game designer.
In a recent interview with videogamer, Nesmith expressed his excitement towards Starfield 2. “I’m looking forward to Starfield 2,” he said. “I think it’s going to be one hell of a game because it will address many of the things people are saying, ‘We’re quite there. We’re missing a little bit.’
It will be able to take what’s in there right now and put in a lot of new stuff and fix a lot of those problems.” While considering fans’ complaints he anticipated that the sequel would offer them an improved experience.
He shared a view that Starfield is the foundation of something bigger- the first game in a series always has room for improvement and it lays the groundwork for future projects.
He said, When we built Skyrim, we had the tremendous advantage of Oblivion, which had the tremendous advantage of Morrowind. All that stuff was there for us.
All we had to do was continue to improve and add new stuff. We didn’t have to start from the ground up. If we’d had to start from the ground up, that would have been another two or three years of development time.”
However, Bethesda has a packed schedule- currently working on The Elder Scrolls 6 and its development will probably end around 2029. After that, the developers’ plan is to focus on Fallout 5, and keeping in view this Starfield 2 might not come out until close to 2040.
Despite the wait, Nesmith appears to be quite optimistic about the sequel but still fans can do nothing but only put their trust in time to see how the progress unfolds.
