Delay Ensures a Smoother Launch

The launch of Path of Exile 2  has been delayed, hitting down the excitement of players who were passionate about playing it. The release date is now shifted to December 6 from November 15, making fans wait for another month before they can access the game.

The director- Jonathan Rogers uploaded a video on X, sharing apologetic remarks and explaining the reason behind the delay. He said, “Unfortunately we have some bad news.

We have to delay Early Access for 3 weeks. The new date is the 6th of December. I am really sorry about this one.” He told the community that the delay occurred due to technical issues with the game’s servers.

“Well, it turns out it isn’t really the game itself that we’re behind on. It’s a bunch of server-side infrastructure work that has taken us a lot longer than we expected”.

While acknowledging the gamers’ disappointment he assured them that the delay would bring a disruption-free gaming experience. Another concern is connecting accounts between Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2, including console players.

He describes the complexity of the whole process, which involves ensuring that old data works with new systems and dealing with unexpected issues in the database, like duplicate account names and odd data.

Jonathan said, “ We have to get everything perfect so that nobody loses anything they paid for, and nobody has their account broken”. The announcement of a live stream in four weeks is also made in the video to showcase to players what to expect in the upcoming game.

Despite the controversies over the delay, the detailed response from the director has made everything clear and this highlights that the team is dedicatedly working on Path of Exile 2 to deliver a promising enhanced experience.
