Inflection Game’s Unfortunate Year
The Inflexion Games studio- the company behind the Nightingale is going through an unfortunate time and it recently laid off some employees due to unsuccessful early access release.
Studio shared the official X post announcing the news, describing challenges and the team layoffs. The CEO- Aaryn Flynn said, “The past few weeks here at Inflexion Games have been incredibly challenging, and no words can adequately express the sadness we feel.
Like many other studios over the past few years, we have been hit by the stark realities of the industry, and after exploring every possible option, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to let go of some of our remarkable and talented team members.”
“The Early Access release hasn’t been commercially successful enough to continue development at our studio’s previous size.” They have also closed their office that was operating in the UK, leaving no clue of how many employees are no longer part of Inflexion Games.
However, According to Gamerant one of the former developers- shared a post on Linkedin- announced that their journey ended with the studio, “It’s hard to find the most effective words to say all this, but as of today, like most of the employees of Inflexion Games, I am no longer part of the studio”. The statement also hints that most of the team is gone.
Aaryn thanked the team and acknowledged their remarkable contributions: “ We thank them for their invaluable contributions to Nightingale – it would not have been possible without their immense talent and passion for adventuring in the Faewilds.”
This year has been tough on the entire gaming industry and from bigger companies to smaller ones, all laid off their employees at one point and regretfully Inflexion is one of them.
Despite the fact that the studio’s and game’s future seems uncertain, Aaryan confirmed that the team will continue working on Nightingale and soon more updates will be released.
With the stone enthusiasm, the remaining team will continue to confront challenges for their beloved fan base.
