John Krasinski is to reprise his role of Jack Ryan – he played the spy in four series on Prime Video – for a new movie. If this happens, he will be the fifth man to play the character on the big screen.
Alec Baldwin was the first man to play Tom Clancy’s iconic spy on screen. He played Jack Ryan in the now classic film The Hunt for Red October in 1990.
The next time Ryan is seen on screen, he has a different face. Harrison Ford took on the role for Patriot Games and the follow-up Clear and Present Danger.

It was another 12 years before a Jack Ryan film was made. In 2014’s Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Chris Pine took on the role, but the movie was not a huge success.
