While we may know some intimate things about Haliey Welch – also known as the Hawk Tuah Girl – we have not known the identity of ‘Pookie’, her boyfriend. Until now.
Pookie reveal
In the latest episode of her wildly successful podcast, Talk Tuah, Welch finally spilled the tea on her relationship.
The pair had made their relationship official in October, and now they felt able to reveal the details. Pookie is 22-year-old Kelby Blackwell, a plumber from her hometown.
Welch gushed about her boyfriend saying: “My man is a bad bitch and I’m proud of it, that’s my arm candy right there. I’m so proud of him.”
She then called Blackwell up onto the stage, and he joined the conversation. Blackwell said that initially he had wanted to stay out of the spotlight but changed his mind when Welch asked him to appear on the podcast. He said he would do it to help Welch to get more views.

Welch then asked the question that everyone wanted answered – what he thought the first time he saw the now-infamous viral clip of Welch that launched her to overnight stardom.
For anyone who’s been living under a rock, Welch was vox-popped by YouTubers and asked about one thing that drives her man wild, and she came out with the now-legendary ‘hawk Tuah’ line.
Blackwell said that initially he didn’t know what to say. He received a Snapchat about the video saying to disregard it. Initially, he thought ‘she’d drunk.’
“I know you personally and you’re used to being a very stay-to-yourself quiet girl and just to see that video was like, ‘What the f—?’ ”
Blackwell added that Welch was crying on the phone to him after the video came out and he didn’t want to add to her hurt. Instead, he encouraged her to “keep pushing forward.”
Welch added that at the time of the video, they weren’t serious, although Blackwell pushed back saying that they had been seeing each other since last year.
Blackwell added that he was “proud” of how Welch has “turned things around for herself” after she went viral. “I never anticipated her coming through since she was always that quiet girl, but I am proud of her. You turned around and made a good name for yourself.”
