On Thursday 10 April, the American posted a solemn photo of himself sitting alone in the stands at soccer team Aston Villa’s stadium.
Adam Richmans says “I’m not perfect, never claimed to be”
Richman captioned the image with a heartfelt message: “Thank you all for the support you have given & the chance to live out my dreams to uplift so many others through the shows that I make, and to tell their stories. I’m not perfect, never claimed to be. I’ve always tried my best and tried to lead with love. I’m rooting for all of you, & appreciate every last one of you. With Love & Respect, Adam”
It’s unknown why Richman has posted the words and fans are understandably concerned. His followers flooded the comments section to check on his well-being.
@stewartjordan1 commented to say he hopes he’s okay and referenced Richman’s recent experience of having his possessions stolen in the UK. He wrote “I don’t know the context of this but I hope that you are OK? We’ve never met, but I’m a big fan and followed MvF from the start. You treat everyone with respect and compassion. Your recent post about finding your stolen bag and the importance of its personal contents was very moving, especially how grateful and humble you were to the guy that helped you find it. You seem like one of the good guys, really do hope you are OK. If I’ve read the room wrong, I apologise for being too serious.”
@harry.maplesden was confused by the caption, but sent well wishes, saying “Not sure if this caption is just worded a bit funny or not! But we love you Adam, you have fans across the globe. Chin up and much love my brother 🙏 ❤️”
@____feiticeira, with humor, reminded Richman that nobody is perfect, adding “Pobody’s Nerfect. Thank you Adam, rooting for you and wishing you all the best for whatever you’re going through 💜”
@are_elle_viix asked “Is there anyone that can physically check on @adamrichman ??” which prompted another fan, @magandagirl to respond “I’m messaging this post to his famous chef followers who probably know him personally. Maybe if we all do this, they’ll take notice and can find a way to help. 🙏🏽”
“family medical stuff”
In a separate post just three days ago, Richman shared photos from his mother’s birthday dinner in December 2024. In the caption, he explained that he hadn’t posted them at the time because “we had some family medical stuff going on right after my Mom’s birthday.” While his latest post has left fans questioning the context, a medical issue could well be a contributing factor.
The TV host has 450,000 followers on Instagram and 459,000 on TikTok. His most recent post on TikTok came on 5 April. It shows the foodie looking in good spirits and about to dive into what looks like British pasty.
His show Man v. Food originally aired on the Travel Channel from 2008 to 2012, earning him widespread recognition as the host and making him a beloved figure all around the world.
Update: Richman has since commented on the emotional Instagram post, stating “Thank you for all of your concern everyone. I’m fine. It was a post of just honesty & gratitude after praying last night. I am sorry if I scared anyone.”
