As the Los Angeles fires continue to rage on, many figures from the entertainment world have offered messages of solidarity. Many more have pledged vast sums of money to help victims and the efforts to battle the blaze.

As it stands, four fires continue to burn in Los Angeles. At least 24 people have died in the fires and 23 others are missing, while thousands of others have been displaced. More than 12,000 structures were destroyed in the fires and the situation could potentially get worse today as the winds pick up.

Some celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal and Adam Brody, have lost their homes in the Pacific Palisades area. The fires have also caused disruption to the wider industry, pausing film and TV production and delaying awards ceremonies.

However, the industry has also come together to provide help to those who have lost their homes as well as firefighters trying to contain the fires.

The singer’s BeyGOOD Foundation said it would donate $2.5 million to the L.A. Fire Relief Fund to help residents of Altadena and Pasadena who have lost homes, as well as to “churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires”.

In addition, Metallica have donated $500,000 to relief efforts via their All Within My Hands Foundation.

Jamie Lee Curtis has also donated $1million to the cause and Hilton has launched her own fund to help displaced families. She has given $100,000 and is also promising to match up to $100,000 in donations.

Meanwhile, Halle Berry said she was “packing up my entire closet” to donate clothes to people who have been displaced.

Jennifer Garner has also been helping out. She has partnered with award-winning chef José Andrés’ food relief nonprofit World Central Kitchen, which hosted pop-ups around Los Angeles County to feed people in need. Garner volunteered to distribute meals from restaurants and food truck partners.

According to Variety, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has pushed back the voting deadline for this year’s Oscars nominations. Consequently, this year’s nominees will be revealed later than planned.

Several events have been cancelled due to fires, including the premieres for movies such as Unstoppable, Wolfman and Better Man.

The expected SAG Award nomination livestream featuring Joey King and Cooper Koch was also axed. Instead, nominations were announced by a press release.

In addition, the Critics Choice Awards were pushed back from January 12 to January 26.

However, the Grammys is still going ahead on February 2 despite reports it could be postponed.
