- Bad Boys: Ride or Die has performed well at the box office since release
- Producer Jerry Bruckheimer says discussions have already been had about another instalment
- Bruckheimer has also discussed other films, including a potential third part in a beloved franchise

Bad Boys: Ride or Die might have only hit theaters less than a fortnight about, but already a fifth movie in the franchise is being discussed.
Discussions
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed in an interview with Deadline that discussions have already been had on the possibility of developing a Bad Boys 5 “but we want to see how this one did at the box office,” he said.
Bruckheimer then added that he was “sure” conversations will be had in the next week.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die has performed above expectations at the global box office since its release earlier this month and has already grossed more than $120 million so far. Indeed, it had the biggest opening weekend for an R-rated movie since Oppenheimer last July, according to Deadline.
The performance of the latest Bad Boys film suggests there is still much life in the franchise, which stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. In the latest film, the Miami-based Burnett and Lowrey must go on the run to clear the name of their late Captain after he is falsely accused of a conspiracy.
Top Gun update
Elsewhere in the Deadline interview, Bruckheimer said that there are “interesting ideas” for a Top Gun 3, and there have been talks with Tom Cruise again reprising his role as Maverick. However, there is no script yet so it will be “a while” before we see a film break cover.
In addition, Bruckheimer confirmed that F1, the film starring Brad Pitt as a former Formula One driver, will have a theatrical distributor beyond Imax soon.
