- Vermin bug still causes double damage despite patch claims
- Players report ongoing issues, supported by Reddit video evidence
- Treyarch has not yet addressed the issue but may in future updates

Treyarch released the January update, which made players excited for a certain time. It wiped out as soon as zombie fans noticed that the Vermin bug, which the company claimed to be fixed, is still persisting.
Vermin Bug Rotting the Experience
In patch notes, it was mentioned that “Addressed an issue where Vermin could sometimes hit twice with one attack.” A player shared a video on Reddit, displaying that they were still hit twice by the vermin, taking the double damage.
The main issue revolves around this creature, which carries out a single strike on players, but as a result, they receive double damage, causing much more damage than intended.
While in normal attacks, it is supposed to deal 67 damage. The player’s claim is supported by the video in which it can be vividly noticed that the health bar got lower drastically from 180 to 113 to 46, indicating two hits instead of one.
Not only this user but others also reported a similar issue; even Reddit users commented in favor of the video. This bug rots the gameplay experience and adds more fuel to the already existing complaints about Vermin.
Black Ops 6 worriers already find this enemy pretty annoying and frustrating, and now the double damage bug is making the situation worse.
Treyarch’s Response: Is a Real Fix Coming?
As of now, developers have not responded to the complaint, but it is expected to be resolved with the arrival of the next update. Undoubtedly, Treyarch has been working on bugs and issues raised by the players for so long but this one still requires more of their attention.
The hope is that Treyarch will prioritize this bug in future updates. Fans are still waiting for a fix, and the expectation is that it could be addressed with a small update in the coming weeks.
Despite this ongoing bug and all the chaos, Black Ops 6 has new content to distract players from disappointing aspects of the game. The update released Squid Game modes and rewards, following the Call of Duty and Squid Game Crossover, adding a layer of fun to the casual fighting.
Until the problem gets addressed, players can dive into the new content and get amused with it the whole month. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been facing a decline in popularity due to such disruptions, considering its developers are investing well to get the game back on track.
Right now, fans can hope that Treyarch will pay attention to their concern soon so they can continue to play without any element that aims to spoil the gameplay.
