Super Bowl LIX got off to a Hollywood start as Jon Hamm and Bradley Cooper introduced the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, respectively.

Hamm was up first to introduce the reigning Super Bowl champions, to a cacophony of boos from the Eagles fans inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. It was reported that Eagles fans were making up as much of 80% of the capacity inside the dome, hence the biased reactions.

Cooper then stepped up to passionately introduce his Philadelphia Eagles, to a raucous reaction from the 75,000 strong crowd.

Cooper was accompanied by nine-year-old Declan LeBaron for his introduction. The Silver Linings Playbook star had surprised Declan on the Today Show earlier this week with tickets to the Super Bowl. Declan had gone viral after appearing in an Instagram video in which he was asked to choose between receiving $1,000 or a mystery Eagles mascot doll. Declan chose the money and then promptly shared it with his fellow shoppers.

Declan suffers from systemic juvenile arthritis, with which he has been hospitalised 17 times.

Cooper famously shared his fandom for the Eagles on the big screen in 2012’s Silver Linings Playbook, in which his character, Pat Solitano Jr, is a huge Eagles fan. Cooper was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film. He will be hoping for an award winning display from Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and co at Super Bowl LIX, tonight.
