- The fourth season of Bridgerton is set to hit our screens in 2026
- And while they’re no longer the central plot point, Luke Newton says fans will still get an insight into Benedict Bridgerton’s marriage to Penelope Featherington
- He also branded the new romantic storyline ‘very interesting’

Since it burst onto our screens back on Christmas Day 2020, Bridgerton has had fans across the globe hooked by the goings-on of the ton.
And while he may be taking a backseat in this series, Luke Newton has promised fans that he will still very much be involved in the fourth season of the hit Netflix show.
In series three, we watched as Colin Bridgerton – played by Newton, 32 – finally fell in love with Penelope Featherington.
And while they may have had their ups and downs, fans were thrilled to see Featherington – taken on by the wonderful Nicola Coughlan, 38 – get her happy ending, in a relationship they have since dubbed ‘Polin’.
As the show moves on to focus on his on-screen brother Benedict (Luke Thompson) start up a romance with Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), Newton has assured fans that we will get a closer look at Polin’s marriage.
Calling the scenes “really great”, the actor explained, “We’ve seen all the twists and turns to the drama of their relationship last season. You don’t often see it on screen of just two people living happily ever after – and just that being what it is.”
Luke Newton brands Bridgerton season four as ‘really interesting’

However, Newton also opened up a little about the central focus of the new series – and said we would be jumping “straight into a new love story” with Benedict and Sophie.
“It’s really interesting,” he continued. “It’s very different this year.”
Newton added, “There are many scenes that I get to read on the page – and I get to check in with my big bro Luke every now and then and just see how he’s getting on – but I can’t wait to actually see it. I think it’s just gonna be stunning.”
Luke Newton praises Bridgerton brother, Jonathan Bailey

Aside from Bridgerton, Newton also showed support for another one of his “big brothers” – Jonathan Bailey.
The actor – who plays head of the family, Anthony Bridgerton, in the show – wowed audiences with his role as Fiyero in the movie-musical Wicked, which reached theaters last November.
Branding Bailey as “absolutely incredible”, Newton went on, “As soon as Wicked was out, I booked a screening.
“Wicked holds a special place in most people’s hearts, particularly if you came from theater.”
Newton added of Bailey’s performance, “I just loved it.”
