- Popstar posted the hand drawn sketch on Instagram
- Appears to have been inspired by iconic English landmarks
- UK fans have reacted enthusiastically to the post

Popstar Britney Spears is known for her Instagram posts that often show her posing in outfits or sharing positive sentiments, but her latest post has caused interest – but not for the reason you might expect.
Hand drawn
Britney, 42, posted a hand drawn sketch of a church with another building in the background to her more than 42 million followers on Instagram, with just the message ‘just a pen and a church’.
However, some of her followers in the UK instantly recognised the place she had drawn as St Martin’s Church and the Selfridges building, which are both iconic landmarks in Birmingham in England.
While Spears herself doesn’t appear to have confirmed or denied whether the drawing is of the buildings, which are in the heart of Birmingham city centre situated in the Bullring Shopping Centre, many people are convinced. One user said she had spent hours Googling pictures of the church and found an image from the same angle as Spears used in – what we assume – is her drawing.
Fans react
Many people have been enthusiastic about the drawing. One user on X (formerly Twitter) posted: “Britney Spears drawing the bullring in Birmingham has sent me to the moon.”
Another user was sceptical it was by her: “Britney Spears trying to make us believe she’s been drawing St Martins church and Selfridges?” followed by three laughing emojis.
Since being posted, the drawing has racked up more than 29,000 likes at the time of writing., While Spears is known for her singing, songwriting and writing – she has written several books – she has hitherto not been known for her ability to draw.
