Speaking to radio station Sirius XM, the Boss praised the star of Hulu’s The Bear, calling him a “terrific actor” and suggesting his fans are sure to enjoy his take on the role.
Meanwhile, Springsteen’s long-time manager Jon Landau – who is played in director Scott Cooper’s new movie by Succession stand-out Jeremy Strong – also had kind words for White.
In addition to calling White the “perfect” actor to portray a young Springsteen, he also suggested that the casting was key to telling the story – something he thinks Cooper got right.
Bruce Springsteen praises Jeremy Allen White casting
“He sings very well,” said Springsteen to Sirius XM host Jim Rotolo. “It’s a tremendous cast of people. They cast the film beautifully, so it’s very exciting.”
The singer continued: “Jeremy is such a terrific actor that you just fall right into it. He’s got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize and he’s just done a great job, so I’ve had a lot of fun being on the set when I can get there.”

Landau backed him in an interview posted late last year by saying: “Oh my god, he’s just perfect. The casting is great.
“[Director] Scott [Cooper] said to me at the beginning, he said, ‘We get the right cast, and we’ll tell this story right,’ and he got the right cast.”
When is Delivery Me From Nowhere out?

Deliver Me From Nowhere doesn’t have a release date but it’s expected to debut at some point in 2025.
Cooper’s movie will follow a key moment in Springsteen’s career and the recording of his sixth album Nebraska which was released in 1982.
The album was created in a very low-fi way using four-track cassettes in Springsteen’s bedroom. Despite this method, the record has become one of the musician’s most critically praised releases.
In addition to White in the leading role and Strong as Landau, Cooper’s movie will also feature performances from British actor Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father Douglas, Gaby Hoffman as his mother Adele.
Paul Walter Hauser will play his recording engineer Mike Batman and Johnny Cannizzaro will star as E-Street band guitarist Steven Van Zandt.
Comedian Marc Maron will also appear as record producer Chuck Plotkin, with David Krumholtz playing Al Teller. Meanwhile, Odessa Young will play Faye, one of Springsteen’s formative love interests.
