- Hackers are using the Staff of Ice in Warzone, ruining fair play
- Players demand stricter anti-cheat actions from developers
- Call of Duty’s Steam player count drops amid hacking concerns

Hackers are ruling over the Battlefields of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty Warzone; despite anti-cheat measures, cheaters are getting on players’ nerves.
Hackers Exploit Staff of Ice in Warzone
With the Season 2 update, the frustration among gamers is touching the sky. The Staff of Ice was introduced in the Black Ops 6 with the Season 2 update on January 28, debuting in the map newly launched map “The Tomb.” This potent weapon was crafted to enhance the gameplay experience in Zombies mode.
But now hackers have brought this weapon to Warzone in regular matches, running them for players and using the weapon for their own benefit. Players got annoyed and voiced against it using different social media platforms to express their distress.
Fans are voicing their concerns about the issues they are facing and demanding stronger preventive measures to combat cheating. The whole gaming community is united on the grounds that strict moderation is required for a fair gaming environment.
Fans Demand Stronger Anti-Cheat Measures
Fans are demanding that developers take this issue very seriously as it is badly affecting the gaming experience, and the integrity of the game is also at stake here.
A viral clip on X exposed a hacker using the Staff of Ice Wonder Weapon in Warzone. The cheater effortlessly secured long-range kills restocked ammo at Buy Stations and dominated matches unfairly.
Players were stunned by how quickly hackers exploited the newly introduced weapon. The Staff of Ice had only been in the game for a few days before being misused.
A wave of outrage was seen among players, as they were furious about the frequent appearances of hackers and cheaters in Ranked Play and other Call of Duty: Warzone modes, especially as Activison focuses on promoting new shop bundles.
Despite a new Call of Duty: Warzone balance update, set to launch in the next week, it is very unlikely to tackle the persistent cheating and hacking issue. Call of Duty’s player count on Steam has dropped over the past three months, and ongoing issues could worsen the decline if the situation is left untreated.
The game is also launching the Terminator event, but adding fancy content won’t help if there are no fair matches or gameplay. Players are demanding more robust solutions and hoping that the whole scenario can be reversed if developers take strict actions against hacking and ensure the restoration of balance to the game.
