Since they starred in the hit Hulu series Normal People back in 2020, fans have been obsessed with Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal’s friendship.
And as Edgar-Jones takes to the stage in a new West End adaptation of the Tennessee Williams classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, she knew she could rely on her pal to give her some good advice.
The Twisters actor, 26, stars as Maggie in the production – and Mescal shared his wisdom after his run in another of Tennessee Williams’s plays, A Streetcar Named Desire.
Playing Stanley Kowalski, Mescal won the Olivier Award for Best Actor for the role, which he is set to reprise on Broadway.
“I saw that production and I was in awe – he was phenomenal,” Edgar-Jones recalled in an interview with British Vogue. “He told me, ‘You’re going to have a blast. Just make sure you enjoy it.’ It’s easy to forget that sometimes.”
Edgar-Jones reveals her Christmas plans

As for her Christmas, we hope Edgar-Jones is enjoying a well-deserved break today.
Revealing that “we only have Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day off” from the show – with the run lasting up to the beginning of February – the actor will be spending her days off with her family.
And unlike some celebrities and their raucous parties, it doesn’t sound like the Edgar-Jones’ will be doing anything more strenuous than trying to decide what festive food they would like to eat next – as the actor says she will be “silent for three whole days”.
“We watch a lot of TV and we always start Christmas Day with salmon and cream cheese bagels and end the night with tomato soup,” Edgar-Jones admitted.
“Then, Boxing Day is all about playing games and eating leftover sandwiches.” Yum.
Fans think meaning behind Mescal’s tattoo is an nod to Edgar-Jones

Although – as far as we know – they have never been more than friends, fans believe that Mescal’s delicate line drawing tattoo of a deer is in dedication to Edgar-Jones.
The pair shot to stardom together on Normal People, playing Connell Waldron and Marianne Sheridan.
The story – which is based on Sally Rooney’s bestselling novel of the same name – follows the pair from their school days into adulthood, as they struggle to navigate their ever-changing relationship.
According to a deepdive by one fan, the deer on Mescal’s right forearm, is a huge nod to Edgar-Jones’s character Marianne, after Connell writes to her to tell her “thoughtful face and nice sleek body” reminds him of the animal.
“It’s something to do with Normal People,” Mescal previously admitted in an interview. Interesting…
