Dave Grohl has moved to confirm that a viral social media post, claiming to show a picture of the daughter he has fathered outside of his marriage is indeed fake.
Grohl took to Instagram earlier this week to break the news that he had in fact become a father for the fourth time, only not with his wife Jordyn Blum, to whom he has been married since 2003.
While the identity of Grohl’s new daughter’s mother is unknown, a post sharing a picture of the newborn did begin to gain traction online in the wake of Grohl’s bombshell revelation, complete with an incredibly detailed caption to accompany it.
“Every time I look at you, I see so much of your dad in your face-it’s like a little reflection of him in the tiniest, most beautiful way,” the alleged post read, “From the shape of your eyes to the way your little nose crinkles when you smile, you are truly a Grohl through and through. It’s amazing how much of him is already shining in you.”
However, a spokesperon for the former Nirvana drummer moved quickly to confirm to TMZ that the post was indeed a “fake” concocted by a couple of teenagers who “just wanted followers.”
Grohl has three daughters with his wife, Jordyn; 18-year-old Violet, 15-year-old Harper and 10-year-old Ophelia. After Grohl shared the news of his new daughter on Instagram, the 55-year-old’s oldest daughter, Violet, deactivated her Instagram account.
