David and Victoria Beckham have revealed that they are going to star in an advert to air during the Super Bowl that spoofs the famous viral moment from their documentary series that has since spawned thousands of memes.

In a teaser for the advert for Uber Eats that has appeared on social media, Victoria talks about ‘a little commercial’ they are doing. David then pops his head out from behind a doorframe, urging Victoria to ‘be honest, be honest!”

Victoria responds by saying: ‘OK, it’s a big commercial.’

David shoots back with ‘tell them what its during.’

Victoria goes on to say the commercial will air during ‘the big baseball game.’

David adds ‘the super big baseball game’, before Victoria starts to question if it was actually the ‘hockey bowl’ instead.

The trailer ends with on-screen text saying: ‘Whatever you forget this Sunday, remember Uber Eats.’

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months, you can’t fail to have seen a variation on the David and Victoria Beckham meme going around social media.

The meme is taken from a scene in the four-part documentary series Beckham, which aired last year, where Victoria is talking about her upbringing – and trying to claim she was working class. Remember, she was dubbed ‘Posh Spice’ during her time in the Spice Girls, and for good reason.

David puts his head around a doorframe and urges her to ‘be honest’. Victoria protests that she is, prompting David to ask ‘what car did your dad drive you to school in?’

While Victoria tries to swerve the question, David persists, repeating the question several times, until his wife finally admits: ‘OK, in the 80s, my dad had a Rolls-Royce.’

David says: ‘thank you’ and disappears out of shot.

In the advert, there is a subtle nod to the scene, as Victoria is wearing a t-shirt with the legend ‘my dad drove a Rolls-Royce’

The full advert will air on February 11 at half-time in the Super Bowl, which this year is between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. Traditionally, adverts during the Super Bowl are some of the most watched of the year and big brands go all-out to secure a slot, and usually make something memorable for it.
