- The Blood of Dawnwalker offers a dark RPG inspired by The Witcher
- Players have 30 in-game days to navigate Coen’s vampiric journey
- Gameplay reveal expected in summer 2025; release date unconfirmed

The Rebel Wolves studio has finally revealed the trailer of the long-awaited game— Dawnwalker, offering a dark storyline that seems to be inspired by the Witcher and Persona series.
A Dark Tale Unfolds: A World of Choices and Shadows
The point to be noted here is that the developers behind this studio are those of Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, making sense as to why it seems to have the touch of games mentioned above.
This installment promises to take players into the RPG world, filled with twists and turns, aiming to keep players hooked. The gaming community first heard about it in 2024, called the Dawnwalker, and now it is given an official name— The Blood of Dawnwalker, set in the 14th-century kingdom.
The trailer shows the atmosphere of war and chaos and reveals the protagonist, Coen. He has vampiric abilities, and his story begins with his transformation into the Dawnwalker; the term refers to a potent vampire.
The ex-witcher Dev shared a detailed video about the game and trailer. He mentioned about Coen that,
“he’s a dawn Walker, so he can walk, he can do both the day and the night, and some of the interesting stuff going on in this game, the fact that his powers change based on the time of day.”
He said that he doesn’t know details regarding this aspect, but it simply highlights how this protagonist’s abilities work, portraying him as an intriguing and strong character.
The game is going to be narrative-driven, and players will navigate through the dark and complex world while making decisions that will determine Coen’s path, like saving his family.
Strategic Gameplay and Time-Driven Quests
Although it will be an open world, there will be a ticking clock, forcing players to adopt strategic gameplay and do proper time management. They will have 30 in-game days to save their family. Moreover, the game includes quests that require a lot of time, so players have to choose which one they would like to do first.
Furthermore, Tomaszkiewicz, the Co-Founder of the studio and the Game Director, said,
“Time is a resource, and with each quest progressing its passage, it is impossible to complete all stories and arcs before the dreadful deadline, making each playthrough unique. We call it a narrative sandbox,”
Besides this there is no clear distinction between the main quests and side quests, allowing players to explore freely. According to Tomaszkiewicz,
“We want players to feel the sense of urgency in an open-world game. There are multiple approaches to saving Coen’s family with no clear division between main and side quests, you decide on how you spend the time.”
The game is currently in development for PC and for the consoles that are existing currently and no official release date has been shared. However, to make the waiting period tolerable, players can expect a gameplay reveal this year during the summer.
