- Parents are now able to control how long their children can play on Fortnite each day
- The controls are linked to an account, so they work across consoles and devices
- Parents can also access Time Reports so they can see exactly how long Fortnite has been played for

Bad news for children who enjoy marathon Fortnite sessions – Epic Games has introduced time limit controls enabling parents to decide when it is time to stop.
Parents decide time limits
Parents are now able to decide how much time a child can spend on Fortnite and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) each day.
There is an option to set up time limits in their child’s account in the Parental Controls section of the Fortnite main menu. In there, parents can choose to limit the time their child can play per day. They can also choose to set up specific windows for when the child can play that day. There is also an option for a child to be able to request more time when they are approaching the end of their time limit.
Parents can also opt in to receive Time Reports, which gives them access to a portal where they can see a breakdown of how much time has been spent in Fortnite and UEFN each day.
Touch grass – maybe
Epic Games has also been thinking like young people and closed an obvious potential loophole. The time limit function is linked to the account, which means it goes across platforms – so a person cannot log off a console and just go start up on another device.
This means that when time is up, time is up – unless the child can convince their parent to grant them more access.
So means that kids have no option but to go out and touch grass. Or perhaps play Minecraft. Or Roblox. Or World of Warcraft. Or… you get the idea.
