- Beauty In Black is a Netflix drama series created by Tyler Perry
- Beauty in Black follows an exotic dancer who gets entangled with a rich family
- Part 1 premiered on Netflix in October 2024, part 2 premiered in March 2025

Beauty in Black has been a hit since it premiered on Netflix in October 2024. Part 2 of season one just came out, and there has been a whole lot more drama. The show was created by Tyler Perry, who has created successful projects like Sistas, The Oval and the long-running sitcom Tyler Perry’s House Of Payne. It became a hit, with 5.6 million viewers in its first four days on Netflix, which rose as the show gained traction. It appears now that Beauty in Black season 2 may be on the horizion, just days after part 2 dropped on 6 March.
The show stars Taylor Polidore Williams who is best known for her role in All American: Homecoming. She plays Kimmie, a young exotic dancer who becomes entangled with a rich family, the Bellaries, and a dark scheme behind them. It’s like 2019’s Dynasty, only without the trafficking! The show also gives off some major The White Lotus vibes but is much darker! Who doesn’t love a story about rich people?

With part 2 showing Kimmie coming into a position of power, a potential marriage and maybe a revenge plot on the line, there is a huge potential for season 2. A season 2 of Beauty in Black is promising, according to Perry himself, so here is everything that has been said about Beauty in Black season 2.
What has Tyler Perry said about Beauty in Black season 2?

In an interview with Tudum, Perry acknowledged people’s desire for Beauty in Black season 2. “I’m always trying to write these cliff-hangers, where people are going, ‘Wait, did you see this? I want people talking about it around the watercooler, and on [social media] … and just loving it,” he said.
Tyler Perry confirms season 2
On 9 March, Perry gave fans of Beauty in Black what they wanted and announced that there would be a season 2. On his Instagram, he shared a still from the show with the caption: “I’m just gonna sit this right here!! YALL AINT READY FOR SEASON 2 of #BeautyInBlack !! Thanks for making season one HUGE!”
The post has over 150,000 likes and excited fans took to the comments to express their excitement. One fan expressed their excitement to see Kimmie take down the Bellaries: “Oh she about to make they lives hell after how they treated her and I’m here for it,” they said.

Meanwhile, another fan declared: “BEST SHOW IN AMERICA 🔥🔥🔥”

A third said: “We need a trailer and a date!”

That we do, that we do.
The Beauty in Black Instagram account also reshared Perry’s post and wrote: “Are y’all ready for the season 2?”
Filming for Beauty in Black season 2 already began
The nature of the show was a little confusing, but reports came out even before Perry announced the renewal that season 2 had began filming. The Cinemaholic reported that filming started in multiple locations in February, in “Atlanta, Georgia, and Chicago, Illinois”. They also reported that Perry would be back at the helm of the other episodes.
In this case, the reference to season 2 could be 2 part 2, which just came out. Alternatively, this could mean the cast were spotted filming an entirely new season. Because honestly, if part 2 began filming in February and was just released now, that would be a seriously fast post-production proccess! Netflix productions usually spend months in post-production, and some shows are filmed a year or two before they air. Just look at Stranger Things!
Cast responses

Leading lady Williams made fans curious on Instagram. On her Instagram Stories, she reposted Perry’s season 2 announcement with the open eyes emoji. Could she have been hinting at something?

Amber Reign Smith who plays Reign in the show also reshared Perry’s post. Julian Horton who plays Roy Bellarie shared the post to his Instagram Stories writing “renewed?” Xaiver Smalls, a.k.a Angel said, “For those of you asking what’s next…Just wait,” with the smirking emoji. So the show is definitely renewed?!
Not every cast members has chimed in on the renewal announcement (or the kind of announcement), but it seems to mean Beauty in Black will have a season 2.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Netflix drama!
