The cast for Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow is taking shape with Adria Arjona said to be joining – but how much do you know about her.

The cast for the eagerly anticipated Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow is taking shape, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that Adria Arjona has been signed up to play an as-yet-undisclosed role.
The Hollywood Reporter said that Adria took the role after a round of screen testing against several other actors in April.
DC Studios haven’t – at the time of writing – confirmed the news. What role Adria will play has also not been revealed, but it has been rumoured that she could play antiheroine Maxima.
Adria will appear alongside returning stars including David Corenswet (Superman), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) and Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen).
But how much do you know about Adria Arjona? Here are some facts you might not know.
Adria has a heritage she is proud of
Adria has an interesting heritage. Her mother, Leslie Torres, is Puerto Rican, while her father, singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona, is Guatemalan.
Adria herself was born in Puerto Rico but lived in Mexico City until she was 12. At this point in her life her parents divorced and she moved with her mother to Miami.
In an interview with the New York Times, Adria noted the internet debate about whether she was Puerto Rican or Guatemalan and put it to bed: “I’m very much both,” she said.
She moved to New York at 18 to find her fortune
When Adria turned 18, she decided to pursue her acting dream. She moved to New York on her own and studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. While she was studying to help ends meet she worked as a waitress and hostess.
She made her acting breakthrough on TV
Adria’s first big acting breaks came on TV in 2014 and 15. She appeared in two episodes of Person of Interest as Dani Silva, as well as playing Emily in season two of anthology series True Detective.
However, it was Emerald City that provided her first real breakthrough. In the fantasy drama series Adria played Dorothy Gale, a nurse from Kansas who journeys to Emerald City to try and meet the Wizard and find her way back home.
She has a famous boyfriend
Currently, Adria is dating fellow actor Jason Momoa, best known for roles such as Aquaman and in The Minecraft Movie. The pair have been dating since 2024. Adria and Jason have appeared on screen together before – in the 2021 Netflix movie Sweet Girl.
Adria was formerly married to a Puerto Rican lawyer, Edgardo Canales, from 2019-23.
Adria is no stranger to superhero movies
Her role in Man of Tomorrow will not be Adria’s first foray into the world of superhero movies, although she will hope this one goes better than the last. She played Martine Bancroft in Morbius in 2022 – part of Sony’s Spiderverse-without-Spiderman, which focused on various heroes and villains associated with the webslinger. However, Morbius was a critical and commercial flop – although her performance wasn’t slated at the time.
She is in Fortnite
Adria is also well known to fans of battle royale game Fortnite as she voices the player avatar Ramirez. In an interview with Inverse, she said that when she did the voice, she never expected it to become the massive hit it became. She said he did it because it felt like a “fun project” even though the budget was low. The character’s appearance is only loosely based on Adria herself. She also admits that she isn’t much of a gamer herself.
