She’s one of the most talented singers on the planet.

But fans are calling for Ariana Grande to quit her day job and take up a position on SNL.

The pop star, 31, hosted the late night comedy show on October 12. And among the skits she performed, Grande took on a parody version of Sabrina Carpenter’s hit song, Espresso.

Acting as a bridesmaid alongside Heidi Gardner, Sarah Sherman and Ego Nwodim, the quartet sang the out-of-tune track to the happy couple, played by Chloe Fineman and Andrew Dismukes.

Changing the words to depict the antics of Fineman’s bachelorette party, the women revealed she had had an affair with a mystery man, called Domingo.

‘Ariana Grande would have been an SNL cast member in another universe’

While Carpenter’s song is still the song of the summer, Grande’s version is quickly becoming the sound of fall.

The sound has gone viral on TikTok, with many claiming that the track is now living “rent free” in their heads.

Among the comments on SNL’s video – which garnered 7.6 million likes and 69.6 million views – someone commented, “Forget about Espresso, this is TEA.”

Others praised Grande for her humor.

“I’ve watched this entire sketch like 10000 times. If Ariana Grande hadn’t become Ariana Grande, she’d have been a valued SNL cast member in another universe,” said someone. “Ariana is one of those people that consistently creates SNL gold whenever she’s on the show. I need her to host regularly,” added another.

Another fan went on, “The way she’s pretending not to sing good”, and another agreed, “Sometimes I forget Ariana is an actor as well, and she acts the dimbo funny character so well.”

Of course, fans called for Carpenter to get involved in the action.

“Can Domingo go on the Short n’ Sweet tour?” questioned one, referencing Carpenter’s current concerts. “Someone put Espresso (Domingo’s version) on Spotify right now,” urged another.

Good humored Carpenter appeared to approve of the skit – and reshared it on her Instagram story.

“Very nice and on pitch,” she sarcastically joked, adding a couple heart emojis.
