- The pair starred together in 2023’s Anyone But You
- Sweeney is rumoured to have split from fiancé Jonathan Davino
- Powell and Sweeney were spotted together on the day of Powell’s sister’s wedding

Sydney Sweeney doesn’t often need to do much to send social media into a tailspin, so imagine what the reactions were like when the Euphoria actor was spotted with Anyone But You co-star Glen Powell only days after she reportedly split from fiancé Jonathan Davino.
In 2023, Sweeney and Powell were romantically linked in gossip columns after starring in rom-com Anyone But You, although both actors poured cold water on the rumours. However, after the pair were spotted together in a Dallas restaurant over the weekend, days after Sweeney’s reported split from Davino hit the press, the rumour mill was back into overdrive.
Deuxmoi leaked pictures of the pair onto Instagram, with the restaurant – Tex-Mex joint Joe Leo – believed to be the site of a rehearsal dinner for Powell’s sister’s wedding. Leslie Powell, Glen’s sister – a singer/songwriter who worked on Anyone But You – shared a photo of herself getting married on her Instagram stories that same day.
Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell – Life Imitates Art
The mirroring of the 2023 movie, in which the pair pretend to be a couple during the wedding of each other’s sisters, is eerie, especially since in the film, Sweeney’s character Bea has also recently split from a fiancé named Jonathan.
Regardless of what the meaning behind the pair’s getting together actually was, romantic or otherwise, nothing could have stopped social media from going into hysterics over the Texan reunion.

Glen Powell Could be Heading Back to Texas for Potential New Project
It was reported last week that Powell could wind up becoming attached to a remake/reimagining/sequel to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Deadline have reported that one of the interested parties in Massacre’s IP is JT Mollner, the filmmaker best known for 2023’s critically acclaimed cult thriller Strange Darling. Alongside producer Roy Lee, Mollner is riding high off the back of the 96% certified fresh Darling and is now believed to be aiming his momentum in the direction of Muerto County, Texas.
Should Mollner and Lee be successful in reviving the Sawyer family and subsequently get a script together, it is expected that Powell – fresh off his own monster successes with Hit Man and Twisters, last year – will at least want to have a read of it.
Sweeney, meanwhile, has two pictures scheduled for release this year as she will star in thriller Echo Valley, alongside Julianne Moore and Kyle MacLachlan as well as appearing in Paul Feig’s psychological thriller The Housemaid, with Amanda Seyfried.
