- The trailer premiered at SXSW
- It offered glimpses of some new cast members
- Ellie and Joel’s peace is soon set to be disturbed

Fans of The Last Of Us who had turned up to SXSW were in luck, because a new trailer for the show’s second season premiered at the event.
We reconnect with Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) five years after the events of the first season. They’ve been living in Jackson, having finally found a semblance of peace.
However, from the looks of the action-packed new trailer, that relief is getting ripped away. They have to contend with more infected people and militant groups. At its conclusion, we see an emotional conversation in which Ellie questions how honest Joel has been with her.
We also get to see some of the second season’s new additions to the cast. It was previously announced that Young Mazino would join the cast as Jesse, while Kaitlyn Dever plays a character called Abby.
So far, the story as depicted in the trailer seems vague, but it is clear that the story has expanded from the narrative of the original video game.
The reveal of the first full trailer follows fans uncovering a brutal unexpected scene from the show.
Neil Druckmann hinted about the unexpected scene—that was originally cut from the game will now be included in the show.
Druckmann stated this scene as “pretty brutal.” However, fans couldn’t stop themselves from digging for information out of curiosity and started coming up with theories.

One particular theory, which has gained fans’ attention, suggests that the scene involves Ellie suffering from a horrifying PTSD-induced hallucination. According to a post on the r/ThelastofusHBOseries subreddit by u/foreignterritory37, this deleted scene has been included in the remastered version of The Last of Us Part 2.
When is The Last Of Us season two out?

The new season premieres on Sunday, 13 April at 9pm ET/PT on HBO. The new season consists of seven episodes, with new instalments released weekly and available to stream on MAX after their debut.
UK viewers can watch on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
What’s going to happen?

The show will follow the plot of the second part of the zombie apocalypse video game.
According to the show’s official synopsis, the series will pick up after a time-jump. It reads: “Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”
The Naughty Dog-created sequel arrived on shelves back in 2020. It will continue to follow the trials and tribulations of their hard and traumatic journey.
Danger lurks everywhere like zombies and those aware that Ellie represents a potential cure.
