Demi Moore got an apology from her The Scarlett Letter co-star Gary Oldman after they worked together on the movie adaptation of the Nathianel Hawthorne novel. The pair debuted the movie in 1995.

The Slow Horses star reflected on filming the film and what he was like when drank. Among this include speaking about his “intermittent bouts of boozing” during the production of the film made Moore disappointed in him”.

“I’m in my alcoholic period,” Oldman told the Radio Times.

“I was in a very dark place. I drank too much in the lunch hour. It was such a destructive thing. I got back on the set to do quite a big scene and I got through it.”

Recalling the shame and guilt that came the following day, he told The GI Jane star, “I’m so sorry, you must hate me.”

Moore responded, “I don’t hate you. It’s OK. I’m just disappointed.”

After getting clean in 1997, Oldman has spent the last 28 years completely sober and claims to have “no desire to even take a sip.”

Since giving up, he has snagged three Oscar nods and won one in 2018 for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in the The Darkest Hour.

What has Demi Moore said about her time in Hollywood?

Moore has been in the spotlight since she was a child actor. After growing up, she developed her craft in soap operas before becoming of the biggest movie stars. Famously, she married Bruce Willis, with who she welcomed three daughters. After their split, she wed her now-ex Ashton Kutcher.

In March, she lost out on her first Oscar nod to Mikey Madison. The 25-year-old took home the Best Actress gong for Anora.

Recently, Moore sat down with PEOPLE magazine to dish about many lessons she has learnt in her 62 years on planet Earth. One of the things is how grateful she is for her body and all the things it has “brought” her to.

“I have a greater appreciation for all that my body has been through that brought me to now,” she told the outlet. “It doesn’t mean that sometimes I look in the mirror and don’t go, ‘Oh God, I look old,’ or ‘Oh, my face is falling’ — I do. But I can accept that that’s where I’m at today, and I know the difference today is that it doesn’t define my value or who I am.”
