Hailee Steinfeld has reassured fans that the long, long wait for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-verse will be worth it.

Steinfeld has voiced Gwen Stacey – aka Spider-Gwen – in both previous Spider-Verse movies, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2019) and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) and will reprise the role in the final part of the trilogy, which has will be released in 2027.

In an interview with Josh Horowitz for MTV (via Deadline), Steinfeld revealed that she has already recorded some of her voice parts for the much-delayed film. “We’re well into that,” she said.

Spider-Verse: Trust the process

However, mindful of giving away any potential spoilers or information that fans could jump on, Steinfeld would not say too much more on the specifics of the film. But she did seek to reassure fans.

“You’ve gotta trust the process,” she said. “If there’s one thing I’ve learned with that – it’s that. You put it in their hands and you’re gonna end up with something masterful. So just gotta go with it.”

This will come as welcome news to Spidey fans as Beyond the Spider-Verse has been beset by troubles over the past 18 months or so.

Initially, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was set to debut in theaters on 29 March 2024. That date was scrapped due to the Hollywood writer’s strike, which meant that the voice cast couldn’t be assembled.

But after that, there was a lengthy time with no official updates on the movie and into this void spread rumors that large parts of the movie had been scrapped or rewritten – which were denied by some involved in its production. It was only earlier this month that a new release date of 4 June, 2027 was confirmed.

Hailee Steinfeld future MCU role

Steinfeld also talked about the future of her live-action superhero role too. In the MCU, Steinfeld plays Kate Bishop/Hawkeye, who was most recently seen in the Disney+ series Hawkeye.

When asked if fans would have to wait a long time to see Hawkeye return to the MCU she said: “I sure hope not.”

That could be a hint that she will appear in one of the upcoming MCU movies. As yet, she hasn’t been announced as a cast member for next year’s Avengers: Doomsday. Many MCU favourites were announced recently – including Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Susan Storm (Vanessa Kirby) and Yelena (Florence Pugh) – at a high profile event. But Marvel have said that other names could be announced later, so we will have to wait and see.
