Fans were overjoyed this week when Hilary Duff announced she has welcomed her fourth child.

The former Disney star, 36, shared the happy news that she had delivered a baby girl on May 3 with her 26.9 million Instagram followers.

Posting a carousel of black and white photos, Duff wrote, “Now we know why she made us wait so long… she was perfecting those cheeks!

“I have been dreaming of holding you in my arms for months and the past 5 days of getting to know you, stare at you and smell you has been pure moments of magic. We all love you like you’ve been here all along beauty.” Emma Stone has revealed her desire to be known by another name.

But while her supporters were quick to offer their congratulations, a few were slightly perplexed by the baby’s unusual name – Townes Meadow.

“Omg I looked it up and what? That’s not a name? That’s a random word? Very very very cute baby, such a strange name,” wrote one user via Twitter/X. Another added, “Hilary Duff named her new baby…Townes. TOWNES. Huh????? I love her and the baby is so cute but WHY do celebs name their kids the stupidest names?!”

Referencing Duff’s other children – Banks Violet, five, and Mae James, three, who she shares with her DJ husband of five years Matthew Koma, 36; and her son Luca Cruz, 12, from her relationship with hockey player Mike Comrie – someone else continued, “Obsessed with Hilary Duff and her family but the way she names babies is wild. Just so chaotic??? Two cute, pretty popular names and then two pluralized words that have never before been names????”

“I find it so amusing how her husband is *so* funny and down-to-earth and yet… Townes,” another weighed in, while another user agreed, “these celebrities name their kids anything.”  Meanwhile, Stephen King’s love for “Baby Reindeer” is evident as he has written an essay about it
