He’s one of Britain’s greatest actors.

And while Hugh Grant is now taking on darker roles – such as in the new psychological horror, Heretic – he still knows how to let his hair down.

The Bridget Jones star, 64, was one of many famous faces who attended Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in London this summer.

And while we’re sure other celebs had a brilliant time watching the singer, 34, perform her biggest hits, Grant was more interested in spending the evening with someone else… Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

In a new interview, Grant revealed that the gig was his “cup of tea”, and opened up about their encounter.

“It’s my daughter who’s mad about Taylor Swift,” Grant explained. “I’m an amazing dad – well, I’m an amazing person. I put out some feelers, and to my astonishment, they said, ‘Yeah, come along. And I thoroughly enjoyed it.

“She went mad, my daughter. She brought a friend, they were bopping away. And I hung out with Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, who’s an American football player. We did tequila shots in the back of a… I don’t know, they put up a kind of hut for us in the middle of Wembley.

“We all got absolutely smashed on tequila at Taylor Swift.”

When asked if he had kept in touch with Kelce, 35, Grant replied, “No, I never had his contact details. But my new thing anyway is that I’m not in contact with anyone – I have no phone now.”

Fans went wild for the anecdote – as Grant is famously hard to impress.

“Hugh Grant notoriously hates so many people and situations so I consider his Taylor Travis praise extra special,” wrote one. Another added, “You have to be really special to win Hugh Grant’s grumpy ass over.”

A third commented, “Hugh Grant is one of the most curmudgeonly actors alive (complimentary) and even he was like, ‘the Eras tour f***ing slaps.’”

‘It’s a brilliant show’

This isn’t the first time Grant has expressed his gratitude to Swift.

After the gig, the actor took to Twitter/X to say thank you for a great experience.

“Dear @taylorswift13, You have an incredible show, an amazing and v hospitable team and excellent if gigantic boyfriend (#tequilashots.). Thanks so much from one ageing London boy, wife and thrilled 8 year old #halfgirlhalfbracelet.”

Swift seemed equally as thrilled, and replied, “As a long time Hugh Grant stan this tweet is very important to my culture.”

When asked what he thought of her response, Grant added, “It’s extremely nice, very hospitable. And it’s a brilliant show.”
