- Macaulay Culkin features in a movie poster for a film called Cabin Alone
- Original Home Alone star Catherine O’Hara also features on the poster
- It’s sparked rumours that the project could be a Home Alone reboot

A viral Macaulay Culkin Cabin Alone movie poster has people wondering whether the film is a Home Alone reboot – but is it real?
Published on the Facebook page YODA BBY ABY on 3 November, the poster has gathered more than 146,000 likes and 19,000 shares.
It seems to suggest that Culkin will be reprising his role as Kevin McCallister, the hero of 1990’s Home Alone. A festive favourite, the film sees Kevin left at home while his family leave for a winter holiday.

When burglars try to rob his house on Christmas Eve, Kevin is forced to protect it with elaborate traps.
Directed by Chris Columbus, the film helped to make the 9-year-old actor one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Culkin ultimately returned for the sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York in 1992.

Its caption claims that the poster is for a new movie that reunites Culkin with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star Catherine O’Hara who played Kevin’s mother in both Home Alone films.
“This Christmas, Kevin McCallister and his mom arrive early to their family’s remote cabin, only to learn the rest of the family’s flight is delayed,” reads blurb accompanying the poster. “When Marv and Harry target the supposedly empty cabin, Kevin and his mom join forces to defend it in the ultimate showdown. Get ready for a wild holiday adventure with Cabin Alone.”
It continues, further explaining what fans can expect from this supposed new sequel.
“With snow-covered traps, outrageous pranks, and high-stakes holiday antics, they turn the quiet cabin into a thrilling battleground that’ll have you laughing and cheering.”
The post even ends with details of how fans can watch the project, claiming it will be “streaming on Disney+ this December!” – but will it?
Is the Macaulay Culkin Cabin Alone movie real?

Despite these claims – and the poster’s viral spread on social media – Disney+ has neither mentioned nor confirmed any such project. In fact, those who read the poster caption to the end will quickly discover that Macaulay Culkin’s Cabin Alone movie is entirely fan-made.
“For entertainment purposes only. Fan art,” explains the page that posted the image.
With this in mind, it can be safely deduced that no Home Alone reboot is currently in the works. Sorry boobie trap fans.
Culkin left the franchise after the 1992 sequel with new actors starring in Home Alone 3 and Home Alone 4. In 2021, Disney produced an updated take on the story with Archie Yates as its young hero.
