The black comedy has been running since 2006 – and showrunners have confirmed that it will air for at least another season after this one.

What will season 17 of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia be about?
Let’s face it – where It’s Always Sunny is concerned, literally anything could happen.
But what we do know is that the first episode in the new series will be a crossover show with Abbott Elementary.
In the ep, viewers will see The Gang be given a court order to volunteer in an underprivileged elementary school in Philadelphia.
If that sounds familiar, it’s because the first part of the crossover already aired on January 8, 2025, as part of the fourth season of Abbott Elementary.
However, we’re sure to see a different side to the story when the second part airs – as it will this time be told through the eyes of Charlie, Mac and the others.
Who will star in season 17 of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia?
The whole Gang’s back together again for season 17.
Charlie Day will star as Charlie Kelly, while Rob McElhenney will be Ronald ‘Mac’ McDonald.
Glenn Howerton and Kaitlin Olson will reprise their roles as hapless siblings Dennis and Deandra ‘Dee’ Reynolds; and Danny DeVito will return as their legal father, Frank Reynolds.
Also confirmed to be returning is David Hornsby, who fans will recognize as Matthew ‘Rickety Cricket’ Mara.
