- Krysten Ritter has joined the cast of the upcoming Dexter: Resurrection
- Ritter is best known for her role in Marvel’s Jessica Jones
- Recently Ritter voiced Director Rockwell in Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Another exciting Dexter: Resurrection cast update has landed. Another star on the TV screen has joined, and that’s actress Krysten Ritter. Ritter may be familiar to Sonic fans, as she just voiced Director Rockwell in Sonic The Hedgehog 3. Other fans may know her from her crime-fighting days in Marvel’s Jessica Jones. Ritter plays the titular character, a former superhero turned private investigator.
She played the role from 2015 to 2019. The role continued beyond the show, as she played Jones in 2017’s The Defenders.
Joining Dexter and the success of the show
But now she joins a long list of stars who have been added to the cast of Dexter: Resurrection. Dexter: Resurrection is the third spinoff to the 2006 series about blood spatter analyst Dexter Morgan (Michael C Hall). Dexter works for the Miami Metro Police Department by day and as a serial killer vigilante by night, killing criminals and people who fit his Code.
The Showtime production ran from 2006 until 2013 and was one of their most successful shows. In the summer of 2024, the spinoff to Dexter: New Blood was confirmed, with Hall set to return as the serial killer. Since the announcement, Showtime has added many more cast members to the spinoff including old cast members David Zeyas and James Remar, as well as new additions Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage.

With Ritter confirmed to join the Dexter universe, here is what we know about who she is playing.
Who is Krysten Ritter playing in Dexter: Resurrection?
Deadline reported the news on 27 February. Ritter is set to join the show in a “guest arc”. According to the article, “Ritter will recur as Mia Lapierre, a renowned sommelier who may be hiding a serial killer secret.”
It seems like Mia may face off against Dexter, as Discussing Film revealed on X.

The Jessica Jones star’s serial killer name is reportedly Lady Vengeance, according to the post on X. Could she also be a vigilante like Dexter or just a bad killer?
Dexter: Resurrection is currently filming in New York. Ritter posted on her Instagram Story recently she was heading there. Not so subtly referencing Dexter isn’t she?
In her story, she wrote: “NYC bound baby”. Fans put the pieces together and figured out she was heading to where the show was filming.
Ritter herself hasn’t confirmed her casting in the show yet.
What else has Ritter been up to?

Make no mistake, the Marvel actress has remained busy since Jessica Jones. Recently Ritter was in a leading role in the Orphan Black spinoff Echoes and starred in HBO Max’s limited series Love & Death. And she had a prominent voice acting part in Sonic The Hedgehog 3. In July 2019, Ritter had her first and only child, a son with guitarist and singer Adam Granduciel who she had been dating since 2014.
She recently starred in Stone Cold Fox which is in post-production, and will star in the Groundhog Day-style comedy Fuddy Meers, which is in development.
