It was a rumor she staunchly denied.
But now it seems that sneaky Lana Del Rey has fooled us all – and has married her alligator tour guide boyfriend, Jeremy Dufrene.
The singer, 39, tied the knot with 61-year-old Dufrene on Thursday (September 26), in a ceremony by the water in Des Allemandes, Louisiana – the same creek where Dufrene operates his popular swamp boat tours.
Photos show Del Rey being walked down the aisle by her father, while wearing a flowing white gown. Dufrene wore a chic black suit, white dress shirt and brown leather shoes for their backyard nuptials.
After their vows, the pair strolled past one of Dufrene’s boats – which had been decorated with white flowers for the occasion.
The marriage came just days after they obtained their marriage license on September 23.
The couple first met when Lana performed at the Buku Music + Art Project in Louisiana in March 2019. She took one of his boat tours while in town – but a source revealed, ‘She wanted to go on a boat tour because it’s a big thing in Louisiana – but she never expected to fall for a gator boat captain.”
The continued, “When Lana revisited the area in May to perform at Hangout Fest, they were both single and they reconnected. He saw his golden opportunity and asked her out and they have been together since. She loves older men.”
While Del Rey’s loved ones were initially worried about the partnership, they are reportedly now onboard with the divorced father of three.
“Her friends and team did some digging on him over fears he could be using her, but his business is lucrative and he doesn’t need or want Lana’s money,’ the source said. “They can see he treats her right and he’s very, very low maintenance. He gives her what she is seeking in a man and is romantic.”
‘He’s my guy’
The marriage is a fierce U-turn from Del Rey’s comments last month, in which she denied any involvement with Dufrene.
After an Instagram post about the rumored relationship was shared by a fan, Del Rey simply commented underneath, “No”.
But the Video Games vocalist was spotted backstage at Leeds and Reading festivals in the UK – where she was a headliner – holding hands with her mystery man. They were also pictured having food in a London pub, and at the department store Harrods, which led the press to believe they were dating.
Eagle-eared fans also noticed that Del Rey had changed some of her song lyrics to reference Dufrene’s birthday, and tagged him in an Instagram post as “my guy”.
