- David sat in for Kevin Dunn on a Veep reunion table read
- The Curb Your Enthusiasm star’s cameo immediately went viral
- Table reading of season three episode was a fundraiser in support of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin
In a scene seemingly plucked straight from an episode of Curb Your Enthusiam, Larry David has gone viral for his cameo appearance during a Veep reunion livestream.
The cast of the Emmy Award winning HBO political comedy, which ran for seven seasons between 2012 and 2019, reunited via video call to perform a table reading of season three episode ‘Crate’, in which Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Selina Meyer discovers she’s going to become President.
However, with Kevin Dunn not being available to play his role of White House Chief of Staff Ben Cafferty on the stream, David was asked to step in.
Typically, he did so with hilarious consequences. Although seemingly unintentional ones.
The 77-year-old proceeded to frame himself with only his head visible in the lower part of his screen, in a manner similar to how you would expect a less-than-tech-savvy elderly relative to sit in on a Zoom call. The Seinfeld creator was also inadvertently muted at points of the stream, which is spectacularly on brand.
Naturally, the 20,000 fans who watched the event made sure those who had not seen it were made aware of David’s incredible performance. And sure enough, it didn’t take long for the internet to fall in love with the entire, hysterical farce.
Never, ever change, Larry. A King among men.
