The Fable fans have met with displeasing news as game has been officially delayed to 2026. While this news has upset Xbox players, PlayStation users are quite excited as according to a leak Fable is expected to release on this platform as well.

Delay Sparks PlayStation Rumors

The gaming community is aware of Microsoft’s new strategy towards gaming, focusing on launching Xbox exclusive titles on other platforms, considering it, the leak may come true.

The renowned Xbox leaker eXtas1s has presented several potential reasons for Fable’s delay. One Major issue is that this RPG title is being developed on Froza engine which has created technical problems for game while making it to adapt this engine.

It is taking extra time and efforts to ensure that game may run seamlessly. Moreover, the game’s early version wasn’t interesting and couldn’t offer the exciting experience, considering it developers are busy in improving the gameplay mechanics.

They are taking as much time is required to craft a polished product that will meet high expectations of players. NateDrake also claims that the game has been postponed to next year because it will release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox simultaneously.

The leaker shared statement on Reddit, “Speculation is in regards to the nature of the delay. But Fable coming to PS5 in the year after it launched on Xbox/PC is not speculation.

Keep in mind that timeline was based on when Fable was slated for 2025 on Xbox/PC. With Fable now delayed to 2026… it stands to reason that it arriving on PS5/Xbox/PC on the same day is within the realm of possibility”

Microsoft’s Expanding Gaming Strategy

It can also be possible that all versions of game may release at the same time, unlike it was planned to launch it on Xbox and PC first. This aligns with Microsoft’s recent approach, which aims to bring inclusivity to its gaming strategy.

When first shared, Xbox users were concerned that Xbox titles wouldn’t feel special anymore if they became available for all platforms. However, Microsoft has its own plans and aims to make their titles reach a wider audience.

Recently, they have also shown the logos of PlayStation and other gaming brands on which Microsoft games will be launched. It seems that as this gaming giant will now stay more focused on generating and expanding its games.

Xbox head Phil Spencer explained Xbox’s new strategy and has hinted that the company is evolving and possibly shifting away from being a traditional console-first brand. The delay is undeniably frustrating but if it’s worth getting enhanced and better game version then players have no issue in staying patient.
