Cancelled DLC Leaves Fans with Unfinished Storylines

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 game is wrapping up its final updates. Insomniac Game, the developer, confirmed that there won’t be any extra content or DLC coming out. So, if players finish the game, that’s it- No expansion will be added.

This news has left fans with the feeling of incompletion, they think that something is missing and this sudden full stop has made the overall ending unsatisfactory.

Many fans are disappointed as for them there were some unfinished spots in the game that could be completed through the DLC. They took to social media- Reddit to let out their frustration and disheartened remarks.

What made their expectations so high? Initially, there were plans for DLCs involving characters like The Beetle, Carnage, and even Spider-Verse storylines. Besides this, there were also some leaks relevant to the expansion and all this made players think that the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 story will continue.

The situation could end in a lighthearted way if players were told everything vividly through the pertinent updates.

Free Costumes

Anyhow, amid all the bad news there’s still something exciting on the way- Insomniac announced that the final batch of “Fresh N’ Fly” costumes will be available from Thursday- FOR FREE! Aaron Jason Espinoza- the studio’s community manager shared an X post,

“They’re on the way. There was a hold-up, but I believe they should be available for all on Thursday.”

Originally these costumes were introduced in March through the collaboration with Gameshead for charity purposes and players had to pay $4.99. PlayStation Store’s website mentions,

“Insomniac Games has partnered with the non-profit Gameheads to create two suits for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, one for Peter and one for Miles. Gameheads’ mission is to empower low-income youth and youth of color to thrive in the video games industry.”

The suits were meant to become free later, but this took longer than expected. Now it is official that players won’t have to wait any longer- they can grab these suits this week without spending a penny.

Sometimes an ending becomes the beginning of something new despite there being no DLCs, Marvel PC fans have a reason to celebrate as the game will be released on PC in January 2025.

So, those who haven’t got a chance to swing around and save the city- your time has come.
