The Trump crypto portfolio is expanding.

Their growing digital currency empire development comes as President Donald Trump prepared to return to the White House.

Melania Trump took to social media on the eve of the inauguration to launch her new venture.

“The Official Melania Meme is live! You can buy $Melania now,” the First Lady wrote on X.

Since it debuted, it has been valued at $1.7 billion.

Has Donald Trump got a crypto meme coin?

Melania’s move follows in the footsteps of her husband. Prior to his re-entry to the Oval Office, Donald launched $Trump.

“It’s time to celebrate everything we stand for: WINNING! Join my very special Trump Community. GET YOUR $TRUMP NOW,” he wrote on X.

It was done via CIC Digital LLC, an NFT company connected to the Trump Organisation and whose sales peaked in 2022.

NFTS have become considerably less popular since its heyday. Many consider them to essentially be worthless.

CIC Digital’s wares once sold for in excess of $1,000 but now go for roughly $300, according to CoinGecko.

According to CoinMarket, its value is worth roughly $12 billion.

When did the Trump crypto trend start?

During the recent presidential election, the Trump crypto empire began with World Liberty Financial.

It sought to apparently lead “a financial revolution by dismantling the stranglehold of traditional financial institutions.”

Eric Trump, the president’s son and the executive VP of the Trump Organization, expressed that they were “just getting started” on X.

Well, at first, Donald was hesitant about crypto. Once, he called it a “scam” but his mind was clearly changed by the 2024 election.

During his run, he made a number of crypto-related promises. Among these included vowing to establish a bigger Bitcoin stockpile and create a network of financial regulators.

On the Friday before the inauguration, Donald even threw a “Crypto Ball” in Washington, DC.

What is a meme coin?

Noted Trump ally and crypto fan Elon Musk has been throwing his weight behind Dogecoin. He briefly used the viral puppy image on X, the social media site he bought in 2022.

The embrace of it has prompted a trend of cryptocurrencies related to memes. Anyone can launch one, and thousands are on the market. They tend to quickly lose their initial value.

Are the Trump crypto products good investments?

According to a disclaimer on their websites, neither coin was “intended to be, or the subject of” a source of investment or security.
