Once again, MrBeast is facing controversy — this time for an event themed around him. After the backlash, Mr Beast (real name Jimmy Donaldson, 26) apologized when things went wrong at his Las Vegas event. Originally, Resorts World Las Vegas promoted the event as an “immersive” experience centered on the YouTuber.

They promised fans games, influencer-themed food, and exclusive merch. Specifically, they hyped up a $10,000 gift voucher hidden in one of the mystery bags.

Soon after, fans of the 26-year-old shared their frustration online and even contacted Resorts World CEO Alex Dixon. Many demanded refunds for the $1,000 tickets to the three-day event.

See here what Dixon said, and what the YouTuber said in his apology.

What happened at the Mr Beast event?

Sadly, people felt swindled by the promises that they were given, and some expressed frustration and waited hours in their hotel, only to be given some boring mystery bags.

Other fans claimed they were given merchandise in the wrong sizes.

“I was told to wait in my room for two days for a package to come, so I legit spent two days in my room for a package to come, and it was a box of chocolates,” Theresa Metta, a fan at the event, told 8NewsNow.

Many social media users expressed their frustration online.

One fan said in a post on X, “@MrBeast yoooooo Mr beast I’m at Resorts World doing your experience and it’s been 24 hrs and nothing…. Where’s the experience?? Is there gonna be any activities or anything? Waiting in room lol. #mrbeast #resortsWorld #mrbeastexperience”.

Mr Beast responds and apologizes to a fan

As a result of bad press, Mr Beast responded and apologized to the fan on X.

The YouTuber replied, “Hey! This definitely isn’t the experience we hoped they’d deliver. My team’s already on it—I’d love to personally make it up to you and anyone else by inviting everybody affected to tour my actual studio! Can’t wait to meet you all and my team is reaching out to everyone :D”.

Reports say Dixon has since agreed to refund attendees of the event, although this is not confirmed.

But the damage is done, and fans reacted to the event online.

How did fans react to the event?

On one hand, fans clowned the YouTuber for the horrendous event. However, others defended him, reasoning that Resorts World is to blame, not he.

Subsequently, users had a field day online over the event. One joked it reminded them of the 2024 Willy Wonka Experience in Glasgow.

Interestingly, one Las Vegas news source grouped together the information from attendees at the event and claimed it was a “disaster” based on their accounts.

Bluntly, one user condemned the YouTuber for his false advertising.

On an unrelated note, one user questioned how anyone could “be over 10 and go to the ‘Mr Beast Experience'”.

Regardless of adults being at the event, many of his fans are children.

Adding context to the situation, one user explained, “They paid $1K for a Mr. Beast experience at RW and only received one swag bag with extra small tee shirts”.

In defense of Mr Beast

Possibly, some fans think the YouTuber and his team forgot they scheduled the event or were unaware of it.

“I legitimately think his team forgot they had scheduled the event,” one user mused.

Offering a different viewpoint, another person questioned if the YouTuber knew about the event in the first place.

Online, they wrote in a post, “This event made 0 sense to me from the start, was MrBeast even aware of it? Seems like he just let Resorts World pay him to use his brand name for an event and then peaced out, assuming Resorts World would make something nice of it”.

Though this isn’t in defence of him, it suggests that the influencer and his team may’ve been paid to use his name without knowing what for.

Concluding the discourse, another person praised him for trying to make it right. “W Jimmy. The mood here has most def shifted hearing that you’re inviting people to tour the studio,” the user said.

Hey, at least he is trying to make it right.
