YouTuber MrBeast has been given a special trophy from YouTube to commemorate his achievement of becoming the first individual creator to break the 200 million subscribers barrier.

MrBeast – aka Jimmy Donaldson – has become a global superstar through his YouTube videos in recent years. Known for his huge challenges and stunts, which can take weeks to prepare and hundreds of thousands of dollars to make, as well as big philanthropic gestures, MrBeast’s videos have been a sensation and he now has more than 242 million subscribers to his channel.

YouTube has now recognised his achievement of becoming the first individual to reach 200 million subscribers by sending him a trophy – a bespoke piece designed in the shape of his iconic logo of a big cat with thunderbolts in its eyes.

MrBeast posted a shot of himself, along with some of his friends who are part of the team that make his videos, with the award on X (formerly Twitter) on March 4.

MrBeast, 25, has been running a channel on YouTube since 2012, and his main channel has had more than 44 billion views in that time. His channel continues to grow quickly – he only hit 100 million subscribers mark in 2022. He has an estimated net worth of $500 million.

But while MrBeast is the individual with the most subscribers to his channel, he doesn’t hold the record for most subscribed channel. That honour goes to T-Series, a Hindi music video channel, which has more than 252 million subscribers. T-Series was also the first channel to break the 100 million subscribers barrier in May 2019.

YouTube has previously awarded trophies to channels that have hit significant milestones – T-Series and PewDiePie both received diamond play buttons for being the first to hit 100 million subscribers back in 2019.
