Squid Game season 2 is coming to Netflix and bringing a batch of new players with it.
The first season of this hugely popular South Korean series saw 456 down-on-their-luck players battle it out for a life-changing cash prize. The goal was to survive a series of child-like playground games. Those who won made it through to the next round but those who didn’t lost their life.

Ultimately, Squid Game could only produce one winner – and that was Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae. Despite entering the game as a gambling addict, he left determined to put a stop to this deadly form of entertainment once and for all.
It’s why he’s returning for more games in director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s hotly anticipated second series – but who else will join him in Squid Game season 2?
Here’s what we know so far.
Who is joining the cast in Squid Game season 2?

Netflix has revealed that 12 new actors will join the primary cast of Squid Game season 2. These new faces will star alongside a handful of returning characters who each played a key role in the show’s Emmy-winning first season.
As confirmed by the streamer, Squid Game season 2 will introduce us to new characters played by Unlocked star Yim Si-wan, The Fortress’s Lee David, Tazza: The Hidden’s Choi Seung-hyun, Celebrity’s Park Gyu-young, Kang Ha-neul from The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure and The Glory’s Park Sung-hoon.

Together, they’ll be joined by newcomer Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun from Yaksha: Ruthless Operations, Be Melodramatic’s Kang Ae-sim, Sweet Home star Lee Jin-uk, Missing Yoon’s Roh Jae-won and Won Ji-an from D.P.
However, there’s good news and bad news. On the plus side, we know exactly who we can expect to see. On the downside, we currently don’t have any idea who they’ll be playing.
That’s right. It seems series director Dong-hyuk is keeping his cards close to his chest… for now.
Who is returning for Squid Game season 2?

Squid Game Season 2 will see Jung-jae return as Gi-hun with revenge on his mind.
He’ll be joined by a handful of returning stars including Lee Byung-hun as the masked Front Man who oversees the games, Gong Yoo as the mysterious recruiter who lures players in, and Wi Ha-jun as a detective whose research into his missing brother uncovers a sinister link to the Squid Game.
Of course, the show’s director and overseer Dong-hyuk will also be back to helm each of its upcoming episodes.
