We’re all used to the wonder of nature documentaries, but sometimes nature looks on in wonder at us too.
In this heartwarming clip that has gone viral around the world, a dad is showing his newborn baby what orcas look like. While the baby is fascinated by the sea creatures – as you can see from their wide-open eyes – one orca in particular is fascinated right back.
The orca follows the baby about, looking right at them. it even pauses to go to the surface for air before coming back down for another look.
Quite what piqued the orca’s interest is anyone’s guess – possibly due to the tininess of the baby, as most of the rest of the visitors to the aquatic center are much bigger.
It does raise the question though – swimming with dolphins and the like is popular, but are we swimming with them, or are they swimming with us? Do they think us as curious and wonderful as we do them?
