After years of speculation, the Overwatch mobile version is in development. This exciting news made to headline from Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreiber’s third book: Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future Of Blizzard Entertainment.

Schreiber conducted over 300 interviews with employees of Blizzard, including former and new ones, leading to this bombshell revelation. The book takes readers on the journey of the company’s highs and catastrophic lows.

It delves into the chaos of mass layoffs and lawsuits that brought Blizzard down to earth. These issues gave a tough time to the developers and led to one of the highlighted casualties –

The cancellation of Overwatch 2’s PvE mode, as the sales remained super low. Another setback was Overwatch Netflix series never made it to the screens as Blizzard sued the streaming giant.

Yet, amidst the turbulence, there’s light at the end of the tunnel. The Overwatch mobile version is confirmed, Schreier said, “Overwatch was led by Walter Kong, who oversaw the release of regular heroes and content for Overwatch 2, As well as new projects like a mobile version of the franchise.”

Speaking of further details and release date- yet to be known. What will this game look like? Will it be a completely new experience?

All this curiosity but for now the details remain under wraps. However, the success of Activision mobile games has set the bar high: COD mobile and Warzone mobile.

Fans are hopeful for similar success from Overwatch but all we can say is time will tell how it will fare.
