The sisterhood is well and truly alive among actresses, as Rachel Zegler said Ariana Grande reached out to her. Zegler plays Snow White in Disney’s new live-action version of the film. However, it hasn’t been plain sailing for the 23-year-old. She has been intensely scrutinized since she was cast in the role. Many Disney fans were enraged that an actress with mixed heritage was playing the role. Grande has also recently returned to her acting roots playing Glinda the Good Witch in the musical film of the Broadway musical Wicked.

Zegler’s controversy goes beyond her casting. By the public, Zegler has been ridiculed because of comments she made about the original Snow White being outdated. In the new film, she said Snow White would not be saved by a prince, and for some reason fans were infuriated. Her reputation is not helped by the fact the film has faced its own share of controversies, but that is another story.

How did Ariana Grande support Rachel Zegler?
In an interview with Allure for her cover story, the Snow White star spoke about how Grande supported her. “She reached out to me—kind of apropos of nothing—and was like, ‘If you need anything, I am here.’ She is so deeply kind. She has gone through so much in the public eye, and I have always really, really admired her courage in the face of all of that,” Zegler said.
Grande has faced lots of controversies in recent years. After breaking up with the late rapper Mac Miller, Grande was blamed for his passing. Grande and Miller broke up after almost two years of dating in May 2018. Miller sadly died from an overdose in September 2018. At the time, Grande was dating SNL comedian Pete Davidson.
In July 2023 Grande was at the center of controversy again when news of her separation from her real estate husband Dalton Gomez became public.
Around the same time, reports surfaced Grande was dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater. Slater filed for divorce from his longtime partner Lilly Jay that same month. Speculation arose that Grande and Gomez had an affair while with their spouses, but the two have denied this rumor.
Grande and Slater are still dating.
Grande addressed the controversy in a song in January 2024 titled Yes, And? The song’s lyrics allude to public speculations and opinions about Grande and her brushing off the negativity.
