Rachel Zegler has been the subject of more Snow White controversy, which alleges details behind the scenes. In an article posted by Variety, sources allegedly came forward and spoke about more controversy. The Snow White controversy started long before the film came out, as Rachel Zegler’s political activism towards the Free Palestine movement brought attention to the film, and not the good kind, in the eyes of Disney and others.

What is the Snow White controversy?
The Snow White controversy mainly stems from political statements made by Zegler. Reports allege that the film’s producer, Marc Platt, “flew to New York to speak directly with her”. Platt’s son alleged this in a comment on Instagram.
Allegations came of death threats towards Zegler’s co-star Gal Gadot, who is Israeli. Because of this, Disney allegedly had to pay for security for Gadot. An insider allegedly told Variety, “She didn’t understand the repercussions of her actions as far as what that meant for the film, for Gal, for anyone.”
After that, when Zegler made an anti-Donald Trump post on her social media, Platt and Disney supposedly hired a social media person to approve any of her posts before they went live. Variety notes that reps for Zegler and Disney did not comment on the matter.
Variety also says that Gadot’s political views as an Israeli on the Hamas October 7 attack did not affect the promotion of the film, whereas Zegler had reportedly developed bad relationships with other film studios because of her comments.
Reports say that after she filmed West Side Story, she demanded a ticket to the 2022 Oscars because she wasn’t invited.
However, Variety does note that the actresses did get along during filming and during the reshoots. Where things changed was reportedly during the press part of the film, when the two presented at the Oscars, and around that time.
Arguments to the contrary said Disney fuelled the narrative by having the ladies do separate press. They point out that at the 15 March premiere, Zegler and Gadot were rarely in photos together.
