Actor Roger Clark, who played Arthur Morgan in Rockstar’s massive hit Red Dead Redemption 2, has hinted that there may be a third instalment of the game – but fans shouldn’t get too excited just yet.

In a post on X (nee Twitter) replying to a fan question, Clark said: “I’m certain we will see RDR3 one day,” said Clark, “When that will be – I have absolutely no idea. Don’t count on Arthur’s involvement either. His story has been told, I feel.”

Fans have been wondering if there will be a third instalment almost since RDR2 dropped, but there has been nothing from Rockstar on this. Indeed, with news last week that GVA6 is coming in 2025, and, you would think, this would be taking up much of Rockstar’s time from now until then, there isn’t much hope of a new game any time soon – especially one with such an epic scope.

Rockstar has yet to confirm if there will be an RDR3, but given the success of the previous two, it is likely that it is in development.

Clark’s admission also raises the question of where the game might go next, if Morgan’s story has been told. Would another existing character take on the lead or would an entirely new protagonist be developed?
