She’s Barbados’s finest export.

And now Rihanna has been named one of the wealthiest female musicians in the world – thanks to her status as a billionaire.

The Stay singer, 36, has amassed a huge fortune thanks to releasing eight albums, delighting fans with nine tours, and also making history in the beauty industry.

But exactly how much is Rihanna’s estimated fortune, and how has she made her hard-earned money? Read on to find out…

What is Rihanna’s net worth?

Taking into account her profits from her music sales and touring schedule, as well as her other business ventures, Rihanna’s estimated fortune has reached the dizzying heights of $1.4 billion.

Music and touring

Since bursting onto the music scene in 2005 with her debut Pon De Replay, Rihanna has sold more than a staggering 60 million albums and 215 million digital tracks.

And with all those sales comes some serious profit.

It has been reported that in 2016, Rihanna earned $7.6 million from streaming, $2.5 million from record sales, and $10.1 million in royalties.

Of course, as with any successful musician, Rihanna has also previously taken on a grueling touring schedule.

Though she had been on the road for five years at this point, it wasn’t until the 2010 Last Girl On Earth Tour that Rihanna started to see the big bucks. That tour grossed a whopping $40 million – a precedent that the singer smashed for herself during the Loud Tour a year later, when she raked in an estimated $90 million.

By the time she had finished her Diamonds tour in 2013, Rihanna had completely sold out 84 out of the 87 stops – and brought in $140 million worldwide.

She also co-headlined The Monster Tour with rapper Eminem – who has dueted with the Bajan star on four tracks, including 2010’s Love the Way You Lie. The shows brought in over $36 million dollars for just six dates.

And while you think you may need a massive stadium filled with adoring fans to earn a lot of cash, Rihanna has proven this isn’t the case.

In March this year, the star was hired by multi billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani to perform a private concert in India, as part of his son Anant’s pre-wedding celebration to Radhika Merchant.

It’s thought that Rihanna was paid anywhere between $5 million and $9 million dollars for the gig – not bad!

Fenty Beauty

As well as obviously being a chart topping musician, Rihanna’s talents know no bounds – as we have seen with her makeup and skincare line.

She is the founder and CEO of Fenty Beauty – a nod to real name, Robyn Rhianna Fenty – and its ‘spin off’ brands Fenty Skin, Fenty Hair and Fenty Fragrance.

Within the first 40 days of its launch, the makeup line brought in $100 million in sales, and is now worth roughly $2.8 billion.

Savage x Fenty

Rihanna has also stepped into the world of lingerie with her company, Savage x Fenty.

Debuting her first collection in 2018, the brand reached a valuation of $1 billion just three years later.

Endorsements and brand deals

While she does have her own lines, Rihanna is partial to a smattering of brand deals here and there.

In 2015, she signed a $25 million contract to promote Samsung on her Anti World Tour the following year.

Rihanna was named the creative director for Puma in 2014 and has created both clothing and shoe lines for the brand. Just last year, she appeared to reclaim her creative director title with a new Puma shoe collection – her first since 2018.

Also designing for Armani and River Island, Rihanna has previously enjoyed a creative partnership with MAC Cosmetics (before the development of Fenty Beauty, of course!). Other profitable deals have been with Dior, Balmain, Gucci, Manolo Blahnik, Louis Vuitton, CoverGirl, luxury jewelry line Chopard, and sock company Stance.

Acting career

Finally, we come to Rihanna’s acting credits.

A talented performer, she has featured in movies such as Bring It On: All or Nothing, Home, Annie, and Ocean’s 8.

Though her wage from each of these movies isn’t known, the box office figures speak for themselves – as Ocean’s 8 alone earned a reported $41.5 million in theaters.
