- Barbie and Fall Guy star Gosling wants to branch out into superhero movies
- Kevin Feige has previously endorsed Gosling for Ghost Rider role
- Nicholas Cage previously played Ghost Rider on the big screen

Ryan Gosling might be starring in action film The Fall Guy in cinemas now, but he has talked about his wish for future projects, including joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), preferably as Ghost Rider.
Rumors about Gosling taking up the role have been around for a while. Last year, Kevin Feige was asked by podcaster Josh Horowitz about Gosling’s stated desire to play Ghost Rider and said that the actor was “amazing” and that he would “love to find a place for him in the MCU.”
Hope for role
But despite that endorsement, Feige’s people have yet to pick up the phone to Gosling’s people, according to Gosling.
But the actor hasn’t given up hope, as he told Horowitz in a recent episode of his ‘Happy, Sad, Confused’ podcast. “I would love to, it would be amazing. Come in [and] be Ghost Rider.”
Long-established character
Ghost Rider is a long-established Marvel character, first appearing in comics in 1972. Starting out as stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, he sells his soul to save his foster father. At night, and when around evil, Blaze’s flesh is consumed by hellfire and he rides a fiery motorcycle. There have been various Ghost Riders over the years in the comics.
Ghost Rider has been seen on the big screen before in two films, Ghost Rider (2007) and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012) when he was played by Nicholas Cage. Cage himself is now part of Sony’s Spider-verse, having recently signed up to play Spider-Man Noir in a TV series.
