Reynolds was one such famous face to ask a question and wasted no time making a subtle reference to the drama between Lively and Baldoni.

“How’s it going?” Fey and Poehler asked Reynolds.
“Great, why? What have you heard?” replied the actor, looking a little nervy.

The joke was a light-hearted reference to something that has been going on for the past few weeks.
Baldoni and Lively starred opposite each other in the film It Ends With Us which Baldoni also directed. After an awkward press campaign during which fans noticed that the movie’s stars were rarely seen together, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in late 2024 accusing him of alleged sexual harassment.
The same case also alleged that Baldoni and his press team had a plan to harm her reputation online and in the press. Her co-star later responded to these claims, saying they were “categorically false.”
Soon afterwards, Baldoni launched his own $400 million counter case against Lively and Reynolds claiming civil extortion, defamation and invasion of privacy.
Baldoni also went after the duo’s publicist and PR firm while suing The New York Times for $250 million for their suggestion that he had conducted a smear campaign against the star.
The pair’s legal battles are still ongoing.
What else happened during the SNL 50 anniversary show?

Well, a lot.
In addition to featuring a host of comedy stars – from Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Fey, Poehler, Adam Sandler and Kate McKinnon – the show also featured a rare appearance from screen icon Jack Nicholson.
The 87-year-old actor appeared briefly to introduce Sandler who performed a special song honoring the legacy of Saturday Night Live.
Speaking of surprises, the SNL 50 show also saw Aubrey Plaza make her first public appearance following the sudden death of her husband Jeff Baena.

Plaza introduced singers Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard who performed a rendition of Sinead O’Connor’s emotional classic Nothing Compares 2 U.
Fans noticed that Plaza appeared to pay tribute to her late husband by wearing a tie-dye tee shirt – something that Baena was reportedly a fan of.
