  • NFL Hall of Famer claimed he had been hacked after sex noises were streamed from his account on Instagram Live
  • Sharpe came clean after deleting the message about being hacked
  • WWE Superstar R-Truth went wild in the comments on Sharpe’s accidental livestream

Shannon Sharpe has had a hell of a week. Unc was having himself a nice, leisurely Wednesday, enjoying some quality, daytime adult fun when, unbeknowst to him (or the woman involved), the entire world could hear what was happening as the three-time Super Bowl winner accidentally live-streamed every moan and groan on Instagram Live.

The legendary Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens tight end was oblivious to the fact that his 3.2m Instagram followers were privy to the knocking of sensual boots that was taking place and, when the Live was swiftly stopped, a ‘hacking’ excuse was rolled out in an attempt to get ahead of the embarrassment.

“Beware my @shannonsharpe84 Instagram was hacked this morning, my team and I are working vigorously to figure this out — UNC,” read a statement from Sharpe, although the post was rapidly deleted.

Figuring that no one was buying the hacking story, the NFL Hall of Famer decided to just come clean (pun maybe slightly intended) on his Nightcap podcast on Wednesday night. It turns out Sharpe tossed his phone onto the bed before any more bed-related tossing could take place, and was blissfully unaware he had just switched on his Instagram Live.

“Obviously I am embarrassed. Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details — the audio — heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons,”  Sharpe explained on the Nightcap with fellow host Chad Ochocinco.

“There are a lot of people that count on Shannon to be professional at all times and I always try to be professional at all times, even when I’m behind closed doors. … I’m very disappointed in myself, not for the act. I think there are millions and billions of people of consenting age that engage in activities, but for the audio to be heard I’m disappointed in myself. I let a lot of people down,” Sharpe added.

Despite Sharpe’s serious enough explanation, Ocho was keen to continuously make light of the situation throughout the show, saying that Sharpe needed to work on his cardio because he was “breathing heavy” , before YouTuber Kai Cenat joined the show to further add fuel to the fire, ripping into Sharpe relentlessly.

Perhaps even more hilariously, was WWE Superstar R-Truth losing his mind in the comments of Sharpe’s livestream as the action was unfolding.

Sharpe put the incident down to his lack of tech-savvy, continuing, “I threw my phone on the bed, engaged in an activity. I did not know IG Live. I’ve never turned IG Live on so I don’t know how it works and all of sudden my other phone started going off. My phone wasn’t hacked. It wasn’t a prank, it was me being a healthy, active male.”
