Gone Days Remaster’s rumor from last year has finally turned out to be true; Sony has officially announced that the remastered version is launching on April 25, 2025, offering a new and fresh experience with some exciting features.

A Fresh Take on Survival Horror

The original game received mixed feedback, which pushed the developers to give all in once again into the Days Gone. Kevin McAllister, Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, stated in a PlayStation blog post:

“We at Bend Studio are very excited to share our first look at Days Gone Remastered with our announcement trailer, giving you a sneak peek of brand new content to play!”

The narrative will remain the same and will follow Deacon St. John, a drifter and former biker who encounters challenging circumstances and struggles to survive in the post-apocalyptic world, which has become a habitat of lethal creatures like zombies; they have a name: Freakers.

Players will have to step into the vast open and haunted world, wander for resources, combat threatening enemies, and get into action, exploration, and adventure with a touch of fear and creepiness.

Getting released on PS5 will be an amazing edge for the game as it will be delivering upgraded visuals and graphics, enhanced lightening quality, and more. Players will also have an option to pick between two modes: Quality mode and Performance mode.

New Modes, Better Graphics, and More Thrills

The former one focuses on increasing the resolution while the latter on is all about managing and improving the framerates. Additionally, it will include the new game modes, Horde Assault Mode: players will combat the hordes of Freakers and will get them a pretty high score.

Permadeath Mode – If players complete the game without dying, they will attain a special reward showing their stats. Speedrun Mode – best for players who prefer fast-paced gameplay.

Lastly, the upgraded photo mode will allow players to take better in-game pictures. Kevin has also mentioned the DualSense control, which is more likely to add the cherry on top of the already stunning experience that is coming with the remastered version.

He said: “Feel the intensity of Days Gone with its full use of the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. “Moreover, new accessibility features such as high contrast mode, customizable controls, and game speed adjustments make the game more user-friendly for a wider audience.

The pricing details have also been revealed: those who own PS4 can upgrade to the latest console version for $10, but players with the PlayStation Plus version will have to purchase the entire game for $49.99.

Meanwhile, for PC players, there will be a $10 DLC available on Steam and Epic Games Store. For pre-order users, exclusive rewards are waiting ahead, including PlayStation avatars and early unlocks for weapons, special abilities, and bike upgrades.

The Days Gone remaster is like a restart of the game’s journey and will be amusing for both old and new players.
